Eco-Residencies is a housing project located in Thermi, Thessaloniki.

The main challenge of this project was the narrow size of the plot, 15m width along the road to 40m depth. The creation of an elongated, central staircase overcame the challenge and allowed maximum apartments with a sea view. The 3-storey residential building comprises 4 two-bedroom apartments, enjoying the front view of Thermaikos Gulf, at sizes from 66sqm to 69sqm, 2 one-bedroom apartments, facing the backyard and the playground, at size 50sqm, and a 35sqm studio, on the third floor. Total of seven apartments occupying 520sqm.

In Eco-Residencies, issues of form were integrated with sustainable principles. Triple layers of wall insulation, 30cm thick, combined with triple grazed energy efficient openings and capped with a green roof, provide an energy-efficient shell. The use of heat pumps, underfloor heating and solar panels compliment the high energy efficiency of the building. Position of the openings for maximum ventilation and sun protection with the appropriate shading, denote passive solar design.

As for the building facades, it was decided to create a structure with clean contemporary lines that blend with the area and the surrounding buildings. Use of woodalux louvers and elements of warm accent colors signify that it is an elegant and cozy place for families.
