Project Voulgari is a residential three-storey building, located in the east part of the city of Thessaloniki.

In a challenging, extra small, plot of 130sqm, the new building generates three houses with a total building area of 290sqm. A ground apartment with access to basement floor, an one-bedroom apartment on the first floor and one duplex home occupying second and third floor.

Key parameters taken under consideration through the design process were:

• Building’s position in the restrict size plot
• Room orientation and existing adjacent dwellings
• Clean interior spaces with maximum use of every square meter
• Bright spaces, all naturally ventilated
• Energy efficient construction with the use of high exterior insulation panels, underfloor heating system, energy efficient openings and cantilevers

The concept for designing Project Voulgari, can be graphically given with the quote “Simplicity is a keynote of all true elegance”.

This residential project, with its black and white color palette, is a modern and elegant building we really enjoyed creating it.
